Airdrie Autobody was established in 1995 by Rick and Theresa Whitty. The business started out with 3600 sq. ft. of shop space and 2 employees. In 1999 the shop space doubled in size to 7200 sq. ft. and over this time the business had grown to take on 7 full time employees. The shop expended again 4 years later in 2003, taking on 3 additional employees as well as an extra 2000 sq. ft. of space, including the space which is home to Enterprise Rent-a-Car.
As of January 2013, 18 years since it was first opened, Airdrie Autobody has expanded to 12,000 sq. ft. of shop space and currently employs 15 full time employees, including 2 office staff, 1 estimator, 1 shop foreman, 4 licensed body techs, 2 licensed painters, 1 parts person, 1 detailer and 1 apprentice. Of the current 15 employees 11 have been with the company for over 5 years and 6 have been employed for over 10.
At Airdrie Autobody we are committed to doing our part to sustain the environment by reducing our carbon footprint. This is done by using waterborne base coat, which is an effective solution for lowering VOC emissions- helping to improve air quality both inside and outside of the shop. We also recycle oil, transmission fluid, antifreeze/coolant, all paper and cardboard products, sheet metal and left over/unused paint.
